Crown Equipment Corporation is founded in the middle of 1945 by the brothers Dicke in the United States (New Bremen, Ohio). Crown started by producing thermometers and burning ovens for coal. Between 1949 and 1957 Crown made several visits to other markets, such as the production of television antennas. From 1957 town is also active as a forklift truck manufacturer. Crown believed there was a market for small forklift trucks of high quality. The main aim was the transportation sector and storages.
In 1966 Crown opens an office in Australia.In 1968 an office was opened in Europe. Currently Crown is one of the five largest manufacturers of forklift truck in the world. The company is run by the fourth generation of Dicke’s and is still located in New Bremen.
